Hi, I'm Sarah Hamer, a Bedfordshire artist specialising in fine art and automotive themes.
I thing I love about creating art is the idea of capturing a special scene or moment and sharing it with whoever looks at it. Art has a special way of reaching people in different ways. I also like creating something tailored to an individual through original commissions that will never be duplicated which is what makes it extra special for the recipient. I grew up in Bedfordshire and have practiced drawing since I could pick up a pencil! I love the outdoors so normally base my work on these themes but as a contrast I also have a great passion for cars and motor sport! Cars are a form of art in themselves and as art can be perceived so differently by different people its always interesting in how other people see their cars character!
I enjoy working in different media including painting in watercolour, acrylic, oil pastels and simple graphite, because they all produce such varying effects but most of my car and 'Cool Art' is done with graphic markers.
I do try to do my bit for the environment wherever I can (maybe it's the guilt from driving a GTI!) which is why my items are shipped in biodegradable mailers or cardboard, see my Environmental Policy.
